Mt Fujiyama

The latest white phlox to bloom in the garden.

SKU: PXM23 Category:

Plant Description

The latest white phlox to bloom, flowering with the asters from September into October. Tall, strong and bombproof, Mt Fuji was widely planted in earlier years, and in fact won a RHS Award of Merit, but it is unfortunately susceptible to mildew. Pay attention to culture to reduce mildew (see All About Phlox here on the site). Or, use it in meadow gardens and in large-scale gardens, where you will appreciate the abundant white flowers in October, while being too far away to notice any leaf spotting! It is also known simply as Fujiyama. Interestingly, a nursery in England lists this as extremely mildew-resistant, and strongly fragrant – either we have different plants, or the growing conditions make a huge difference!

This phlox description is here for reference only, and the plant is not currently available for mail-order shipping. However it may be available potted-up for on-site sales at the nursery, or with advance notice.
