Summersweet Garden Nursery is a perennial plant nursery located in East Hardwick, Vermont, in a beautiful part of the state known as the Northeast Kingdom.
The nursery, greenhouse and display gardens are sited on the sunny fields behind our family home, an 1840s brick house at the edge of the village. Started in 1980, we now grow over 800 varieties of flowers, herbs and shrubs, specializing in heirloom and medicinal plants, and have a special fondness for tall garden Phlox. The eclectic gift shop specializes in summer hats for both women and men, tea-related items, garden statuary, useful garden tools, and much more.
The seasonal tea-room serves English Cream Teas in the flower garden or conservatory on summer afternoons, June to September.
Hours for the nursery and gift shop are 10-5, Wednesday through Sunday, from early May to mid-September.
Hours for the Tea Room are 11:00 to 4:00, Thursday through Sunday, roughly Memorial Day weekend to mid-September.
