Plant Description
Aptly named ‘Hesperis’, (the botanical name for Sweet or Dame’s Rocket), this phlox does indeed closely resemble that unrelated plant. The florets are the smallest I’ve ever seen, less than 2 cm., and are of the same rose-magenta color of Rocket. The flowering heads are small and tight, but produced in great abundance on many side shoots. Vigorous and quite tall, and blooming in the latter part of August. Adds variety to the phlox border, and looks great with heleniums and asters. Cultivar by Coen Jansen.
Available spring of 2024. Plants will be dug to order, and shipped ‘bare-root’ in mid-May.
