Starfire
Phlox ‘Starfire’ is cherry-red with medium height.
Plant Description
‘Starfire’ isĀ one of the most vivid phlox, with flowers of soft cherry red with nuances of orange. Like most of the red flowering phlox, the foliage shows considerable dark pigmentation, and this creates a nice background against which the bright flowers can sparkle. Not among the heaviest bloomers, but a reliable grower over the years. Prone to mildew in hot and exposed conditions, and so it’s best to plant ‘Starfire’ in the middle of the border, amongst other plants, which will help keep the ground cool, and thereby reduce any problems.
This phlox description is here for reference only, and the plant is not currently available for mail-order shipping. However it may be available potted-up for on-site sales at the nursery, or with advance notice.
