John Fanick
Phlox ‘John Fanick’ is orchid pink, with excellent heat and mildew resistance.
Plant Description
A recent find from Texas, Phlox ‘John Fanick’ has excellent heat and drought tolerance. It has such great mildew resistance that it was deemed worthy to be included in the roster of ‘Texas Superstars’, plants which can thrive in the oft-times challenging conditions there. If it can make it in Texas, it will make it for you! The growth habit is like a true old-fashioned paniculata phlox, with relaxed trusses, and florets of lavender or orchid pink, with a blowsy violet eye. It has its assets, but it hasn’t proven to be an especially heavy bloomer, truth be told. Discovered by Greg Grant, and named after a Texas nurseryman.
This phlox description is here for reference only, and the plant is not currently available for mail-order shipping. However it may be available potted-up for on-site sales at the nursery, or with advance notice.
