2024 Calendar & Holiday Schedule
Open from May 4 through September 21, 2024
The overall schedule is that the nursery, garden and gift shop will be open from early May to mid-September, 10-5 Wednesday through Sunday.
A big schedule change is that we are now CLOSED on BOTH Mondays and Tuesdays, except for prepaid pickup orders.
The Tea Room will be open Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
May 4, Saturday – Opening Day, the Nursery, Greenhouse and Gift Shop are now open for the regular season.
May 12, Mother’s Day Sunday – the Tea Room will be open this Sunday by reservation – please call or email.
May 29, Memorial Day, Special Monday hours – Nursery is open from 9-1.
May 30, Thursday– Tea Room opens with regular hours for the season.
June 16, Sunday – Free Sunday Garden Tours start today, and will take place every Sunday through August 18, at 1 pm.
July 4, Independence Day, Thursday– Open normal hours nursery and tea room.
July 27 through August 11– Phlox Fest
September 21 : Last open day for the tea room.
September 21, Sunday– Closing Day. Last scheduled open day for Nursery and Shop. Thereafter we are open by chance or appointment, and generally are here when the weather is fair – but it is best to call first.
2024 Events
May 18, Saturday – Wild and Woodland Plant Identification Walk (8:30-10:00 am)– A relaxed stroll with Rachel along the field edge, into the woods and then down to the Lamoille River, identifying wild plants and trees along the way. Repeats June 22 and July 16. The path to the river has a few steep or slippery spots, so wear sturdy shoes and be prepared. Free, but advance reservations are required. Free Sunday Garden Tours at 1:00 pm. From June 16 to August 18, 2023. Tours last around 45 minutes. No charge.
June 15, Saturday – Flowers for Pollinators – A Garden Walk (8:30 to 10 am) Rachel will take you on a tour of the gardens here, and identify flowers that are preferred by pollinators, and discuss how to plant your garden to be more supportive. We’ll identify some of the insects themselves, and how to care take your landscape to foster their nesting and overwintering. Every participant will receive a pollinator plant. June 23, Sunday – Foundations of Herbalism, a Beginner Intensive, by the VT School of Herbal Studies– 10 am-5 pm – Held here at the nursery, led by a herbalist with over 30 years of practice. The topics include Herb Walks, Herb Formulation, Plant Identification, Materia Medica, First Aid, Hands-on Prep, Medicine Making, Wild Harvesting, and Herb Teas. Includes hand outs, a certificate of completion, and herbal tea breaks. Cost is $285. Seating is limited. July 27 to August 11, 2024, the 22nd Annual Phlox Fest – Always held for two weeks in early August when hundreds of Phlox will be in bloom. Daily garden tours at 1:00 pm with Rachel or guest speaker.
